Quality Assurance / PEL

The IDS FET provide their enrolled learners with Protection for Enrolled Learners (PEL), that is Insurance for fees paid for a course.

Protection For Enrolled Learners (PEL)

The IDS FET provide their enrolled learners with Protection for Enrolled Learners (PEL), that is Insurance for fees paid for a course. This means that in the event that IDS FET closes before completion of your course that we provide, we have a mechanism in place to either ensure you are placed with another education provider to complete your course, or for you to receive a refund of fees last paid.

The IDS FET provide learners with insurance policies underwritten by Aviva Insurance Ireland DAC against the risk of failure of IDS FET to deliver the academic course which you have paid for. This policy provides, at a minimum, for the return of the fees mostly recently paid. Where possible, with your agreement, instead of the return of fees the insurance policy will provide for the continuation of your course. This satisfies the requirement of the Education Act 2012. Full information, Terms and Conditions are contained in the policy documentation issued by Arachas Corporate Brokers.

Quality Assurance

Under the Qualification and Quality Assurance (Education and Training) Act 2012, IDS Further Education and Training (FET) was required to engage with QQI to develop and publish guidelines for the quality assurance of our programmes and services.

Since September 2022, IDS has an approved quality assurance agreement with Quality and Qualification (QQI) in respect of quality assurance procedures and policies of all our programmes leading to QQI Awards.

IDS Further Education and Training Quality Assurance team has responsibility for managing the development, implementation, evaluation and review of an effective, integrated Quality Assurance system for all our programmes and services.

In our Quality Assurance Manual, we have an integrated set of policies and procedures as informed by the requirements of QQI, and any new policies or procedures that have been developed to date are described in detail in the manual.
