Advertisement for the position of Assistant to Fundraising Manager
The Fundraising Manager is responsible for an organisation’s fundraising team. The role involves developing corporate partnerships, coordinating direct mail campaigns, organising fundraising events and appeals, managing the annual raffle(s), overseeing the charity shop, stores and supporting all fundraising staff and volunteers in their role, maintaining relationship with all relevant bodies and agencies.

Hours of work
Monday – Friday 9.30am -1.30pm – some evening and weekend work as required
Purpose of job
- To assist the fundraising manager in his or her duties
- To assist in coordinating and implementing IDS’s fundraising programme which will achieve income targets
- To raise awareness of IDS and its work
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to delivery of the fundraising annual activity plan
- Searching out suitable grants and applying for same
- Record all fundraising enquiries, build and maintain a detailed enquiry database and filing system
- Answer, log and return calls, e-mail and web enquiries from potential volunteers, fundraisers and donors in a professional, friendly manner.
- Organising the recruitment and training of volunteers
- Attend volunteer fundraising events on behalf of IDS
- Record, store, distribute and manage the stock of community fundraising materials and equipment
- Assist with annual raffle
- Acknowledge participants and donor support
- Build, maintain and update databases where needed
- Provide regular, updated information to accommodate updating of website
- Maintain charity shop Facebook page
- Participate in relevant training and development courses as agreed with the fundraising manager
- To be vigilant to any Health, Safety and Welfare risks in the workplace and bring any concerns to the attention of the fundraising manager
- Having a clear understanding of the IDS’s policy and vision
Criteria
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Excellent administration skills in Microsoft word and excel
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and multi-task
- Enthusiastic, with a warm friendly manner
- 2 years customer service/administration, events, sales or marketing experience
- Full drivers licence with own car
- Knowledge of basic ISL an advantage – classes will be provided
