A Summary of the Measures announced
🟩 May 4
People Cocooning/Over 70’s etc. allowed outdoors 5k for exercise
🟩 May 18
Outdoor workers return to work Garden/DIY shops Construction Fishing Golf & tennis
🟩 June 8
Some retail to begin to re-open Larger funerals Small meetings allowed indoors Marts and libraries
🟩 June 29th
Crèches, childminders and pre-schools to reopen on a gradually increasing phased basis (e.g. one day per week) and slowly increasing thereafter. Open cafés and restaurants providing on- premises food & beverages where they can comply with social distancing measures and strict cleaning in operation.
🟩 July 20th
Loosening restrictions on hairdressers & barbers. Opening of hotels, hostels, caravan parks, holiday parks for social and tourist activities initially on a limited occupancy basis (or number of people per square metre) and then increasing over time (and where social distancing is complied with). Hotel bars remain closed
🟩 August 10
Shopping centres Theatres and cinemas Contact sports Gyms Festivals Hospital visits Schools Open pubs, bars, nightclubs, casinos, where social distancing and strict cleaning can be complied with (all subject to social distancing rules)
🟩 Cabinet agree to extend two welfare measures that were due to expire on May 9.
🟩 Covid-19 illness benefit of €350 (paid to people diagnosed or with suspected case) will be paid until June 19
🟩 Waiving of normal three-day waiting period for jobseekers benefits also extended
